ruffled mini book

My friend is becoming a grandma for the first time. So I wanted to make her a mini photo book.  She is going to have a granddaughter. So I wanted it to look really girly. So I put four rows of pink ruffled ribbon on it, and a row of ribbon roses on top, and lots of different ribbon tied to the side.  So cute!

Valentines Decorations and Magnets and Magnet Boards

I usually don't do much decorating for valentines day but this year I decided to make some things for Valentines. I took Marge Romney Aslett's class Love Love Love online and it was great.  She had tons of really cute ideas for valentines day. So that's what gave me my inspiration. I even Made my Mom some things for her place. So I was kinda in a crafty mood so I decided to make some magnet boards with some frames I picked up at a thrift store. Then I decided to make magnets to go on them. I love the way they turned out.

birthday presents

I have two granddaughters and both of their birthdays are in January so I made them both a gift. For my granddaughter turning 8, I made her a special box to keep all her jewelry or little stuff in. For my granddaughter who turned 13, I made her a book and a box to keep it in. I'm so grateful to have both of these wonderful girls in my life. It's fun to be able to make girly things. Happy Birthday Bella and Sofia. I love you both.

Mini Book Keychains and Makeup Rollup Bags

I've been busy making things again.  I saw the makeup bags on the DIY dish and decided to make some for christmas gifts. Then I just kept on going. They are really fun to make. So many cute fabrics to choose from.  Then I saw these cute mini books on the blog Art by wendy and decided to try them. They are made out of leather scraps and heavy paper. Then the fun begins you can put any kind of jewelry on them.  I think they turned out really cute. It beats cleaning the house!

Blessings in my Life

It's Christmas Eve day and I'm getting ready for the big day. May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Years.  Here's a few pictures of  the reason Christmas is so special for me.

cake stand

I bought a unfinished cake stand at the scrapbook festival in september. I finally decided to finish it. I covered the whole thing in fabric and then I put trim around all the edges, I then put a finial on top.  I think it turned out really cute.

chair covers and tree skirt

I have been busy sewing and I'm really not that good at sewing. But decided to make chair covers to match my table runner. I used burlap which is a little difficult to sew. I cover the top of the chair with a burlap runner about 15 inch long then  added a 5 inch ruffle, then I put a burlap ribbon around the middle of the cover and tied a knot in back and hung a bell from it. It turned out  pretty cute.  I read Miss mustard seed all the time and she made a ruffled tree skirt that I loved. It's a no sew project so I decided to make one. It was really easy to make but it just takes lot of time and hot glue. But so worth it in the end.
